Memorial Day Parade 2010

Memorial Day. Usually called Memorial Day Weekend. When you hear this, the first thing that everyone thinks about is having off of work on Monday and making plans to go to the shore and have BBQs for the whole weekend. Everyone hangs out with family and drinks and parties and has a great time!

But because we all look forward to all that, the image of Memorial Day is washed away from what that holiday really is. Memorial Day is a day of observance for the men and women who have lost their lives for us and for those who are currently serving to give us our freedom and safety. Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, and friends have put their lives on the line for us. And for those who we have lost, we know they are up there in heaven continuing to watch over us. So lets not forget that =) All we can pretty much say is Thank You.

So for this years Memorial Day, as usual I spent in at the Bergenfield Memorial Day Parade in New Jersey. Since I was a little girl I have always watched or participated in this parade. Its a tradition that I have been going to with my family for years. It was awesome as always. It always makes me proud of where I'm from. Everytime theres the moment of silence for those who have lost their lives, it always brings me to tears. But then I just pull myself together and look around and see the good that has come from it....children laughing and playing, everyone eating popsicles from the ice cream trucks, mothers and fathers watching their families and friends in the parade...its just great family time for everyone, and if it wasn't for those men and women who are keeping us safe, we wouldn't have what we had today. Thanks =)

Here are shots that I took...they are of what I see and think of every time I think about Memorial Day =D ENJOY!

The College of Mount Saint Vincent Commencement Ceremonies and Felician College Baccalaureate

So yesterday was probably the longest day ever because it was Hazel's Graduation and Alyssa's Baccalaureate! CONGRATS TO BOTH OF THEM! I took a bunch of pictures of my friends that graduated from CMSV! I'm so proud of everyone for graduating!

Being at CMSV really brought back a million memories and seeing my friends finally graduate really made it an emotional day for me, especially since Hazel finished. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy for everyone but Hazel really has a place in my heart because we were roommates for 4 years and unfortunately she had to stay an extra year. But she did it! And now I feel complete! H.E.R. Room 210 !!! We're all Mount Graduates! FINALLY!

And Alyssa, the other 1/3 of my heart is finally out of Felician College! So freakin' proud of her ass! Unfortunately I won't be able to go to her graduation because she only has two tickets. But I guess being at her baccalaureate could count! Alyssa, Hazel, and I have been the best of friends since high school, and the time has finally come that we actually have finish college. We've come a very long way. Congrats my loves!

Anyway, here are my favorite pics =)

ENJOY!
